My morning began with a lick on my nose from Freja (my cairn terrier) and quite honestly, the birds were singing beautifully. I slept with the window open last night and it is the closest to feeling like your sleeping under the stars, without actually sleeping under the stars. My day is often determined by how my morning begins. I have for years experienced different degrees of anxiety as I wake up in the morning. Now at the age of 48 (my birthday was just a few days ago Whoop! Whoop!) I look back over my life and have actually been driven by anxiety in a number of ways. Sometimes it fired me up to achieve beyond my goals and sometimes my curiosity to relieve the pressure in my chest has determined what I do with my day, and some days it simply exhausts me so I go round in circles chasing a tail that I do not have! My morning routine has become important to me, so I thought I would spend a few blogs sharing my way to “healthy” day….
Today…. after hearing the birds, and wiping the doggy breathe from my face I waved my hubby goodbye and went straight to a cup of Oolong tea. Took it to my bedside table and moved straight into my morning meditation (Soul Sync)
Actually, I did give Freja her breakfast first, drink a glass of water and rinse my face.
The morning meditation just gives me time to check in where I am, take some deep breaths and set an intention for the day. My busy mind wanted to plan the perfect day and gave me about 6 different options to compare, disect , judge and compare again…. So I just observe, breath and then see what word comes up. Todays word is ACCEPTANCE. So my intention for the day? Acceptance – that the day is as it is meant to be in the grand scheme of all life.
I will take this morning moment further, but for now… it actually feels like enough! What do you do to give yourself the best start to the day?
Keep your eyes on the stars, and your feet on the ground.
